MD/CEO –Asset Management: The Managing Director and Chief Executive of an Asset Management Company will have direct responsibility for client acquisition, the growth and preservation of the company’s Assets Under Management(AUM)in additionto the provision ofstrategic direction for the growth and profitable operation of the company.

Specific Responsibilities:

The Managing Director/CEO will:

  1. Have primary responsibility for the company’s business development, client acquisition and AUM growth
  2. See that the day-to-day activities and affairs of the company are appropriately managed;
  3. Formulate policies and propose actions that lead to the creation of value for all stakeholders of the company;
  4. Develop and recommend to the Board annual business plans, capital and operating plans, and budgets that support the company’s long-term plan and strategies;
  5. Oversee the company’s achievement and maintenance of satisfactory competitive position within the asset management sub-industry;
  6. Take steps to build an effective management team below the level of the CEO, and oversee the company’s active plan for management’s development and succession;

Problem Solving and Analysis: Ability to analyze complex policy issues, draw correct conclusions and articulate clear and focused policy to wide and diverse audiences’ d.Relationship Management: Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders and commercial enterprises to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals
  4. Strategy Formulation: Ability to (a) to take a broad-based view of issues and events, and understand their longer-term impact or wider implications and (b) translate strategies into strategic and operational activities
  5. Effective communication skills
  6. Understanding of Business, Government and Industry Processes: Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of, and experience in, local and national government, business and industry processes and decision-making, and constitutional and accountability principles related to the machinery of government
  7. Interpersonal Style: Has a personal commitment to organizational excellence; displays honesty, integrity, and a strong sense of ethics in all decision and actions
  8. Governance/Management: Experience in working with Governance Boards of Directors providing professional, accurate, and strategic advice and delivering on boards of directors’ decisions and policies

Qualification and Experience

a.MBA or Post Graduate Qualification in banking related discipline, Finance and Management;

  1. A minimum of 15years work experience in the Finance industry of which at least 7years must be in Asset management at a Senior management level;
  2. Demonstrably strong Asset Management background;
  3. Membership of relevant professional bodies
